Under guidance from the Education Department, teaching and learning for the remainder of the term will look a little different to normal. Please be assured that our school has developed a cohesive and sequenced plan for curriculum delivery, to ensure that students receive the best learning. Here is a brief overview of the key information, which was also shared in the class letter.
Learning Booklets will not be used for assessment and reporting purposes this semester. For this semester, all students will receive a grade on their report card for English, Maths, Science, HPE, Music and Japanese (Years 4-6 only). To form an overall grade for each student, teachers use the evidence they have collected from Term 1 and 2 assessment tasks completed at school under fair and equitable conditions for students who were present. Term 2 units of work have been compacted into the core concepts and skills with assessment at the end of term. Term 3 units will begin as normal next term, with consideration to concepts and skills that require further consolidation.
To allow sufficient time for marking, moderation and data input, report cards will go home on Wednesday, 5th August (Term 2, Week 4). The mode of parent-teacher interviews at the end of Term 3 will be determined in the near future, of which we will notify you.
