Pedagogical framework

Curriculum at Kuraby State School is currently determined by The Australian Curriculum in the subject areas of

  1. English
  2. Mathematics
  3. Science
  4. History
  5. Geography

And by the Education Queensland Syllabus in the remaining Key Learning Areas (KLAs) of

  1. The Arts (Music)
  2. Health and Physical Education
  3. Languages Other Than English (Japanese)

The Australian Curriculum sets out the core knowledge, skills and capabilities that are important for all Australian students. It identifies what all young people should learn as they progress through schooling, and is the foundation for high quality teaching to meet the needs of all Australian students.

While implementing the Australian Curriculum in our classrooms, Kuraby State School teachers prioritise the teaching of Literacy and Numeracy.
