What is PAT?
The Progressive Achievement Tests (PAT) by ACER are multiple-choice tests designed to assist teachers in their diagnosis of student's and weaknesses in the areas of reading comprehension, vocabulary, spelling, grammar, punctuation, mathematics and science. Analysis of data from PAT reports informs teaching and learning with the aim of maximising student achievement. The tests have been especially developed for Australian schools. The tests are structured so that skills across a wide range of year levels can be assessed validly and are ordered according to difficulty with some overlap.
