Literacy is the ability to read, view, write, design, speak and listen in a way that allows us to communicate effectively and to make sense of the world.
At Kuraby State School, literacy is integral to effective learning, teaching and assessing in all curriculum areas and across all phases of learning.
We prioritise the teaching of Literacy to ensure your child has the best chance to succeed in their schooling and everyday life. This is done in every classroom with dedicated literacy block times, supported by teacher aides, to assist and enhance literacy development.
